These pumps must be considered similar to the 'classic' ones that handle clean water; the shaft is kept suspended in the upper part of the pump by a single bearing, usually this means that when the pump is functioning the sleeve must stand the thrust created by the pressure of the pump, and if there are liquids with suspended abrasive particles, the sleeve would normally wear in a short time.


This doesn't happen with the PEMO pumps of the AVT/L Series because the sleeve is rubberized by anti-abrasive materials but, in any case, the working pressure of the pump shouldn't exceed 1-1.5 atm, and the suspended particles shouldn't be greater than 100-200 micron.

The AVT/L series pumps are therefore designed to handle abrasive and acid liquids containing suspended particles, with the above mentioned characteristics.
